Ibiza is regarded as a favored traveller destination, particularly due to its mythical and on occasions riotous nightlife focused around 2 areas : Ibiza City , the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.

in the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the assorted clubs, between touring to other global destinations.

Some of the more well known DJs run their own weekly nights round the island. In 2009 Carl Cox continued to dominate Space each Tues. with 'Carl Cox & Pals ', Pete Tong had his 2nd year at Eden hosting 'Wonderland' each Fri. night, Tiesto managed to fill Privilege each monday and newbies Swedish House Mafia usurped mondays at Pacha with 'Dark Forest'. Many of those DJs use Ibiza as a conduit for presenting new songs inside the house, trance and techno genres of electronic dance music. The season historically begins at the beginning of June with Space and DC10's opening parties and finishes on the 1st weekend of October with the Closing Parties. A standard schedule for clubbers going to Ibiza includes waking at midday, sundown snoozes, late night clubbing, and "disco sunrises". Due to Ibiza's important toleration toward misbehavior from young adult tourists, it has bought the sobriquet "Gomorrah of the Med".

Also well known is Caf del Mar, an entrenched bar where many holiday makers historically view the sunset made famous by Jos Padilla. That and other bars close by became a more popular location for club pre-parties after nightfall, hosting popular DJ performers.
